What is Vin à Porter?

Vin à Porter is a service which allows you to take your favourite wines and spirits with you wherever you are travelling in the world. Like restaurants, luxury hotels and cruise lines apply a hefty markup to their wines – you may find yourself paying up to six times the retail price. And in far-flung destinations, you may find big brands like Jacobs Creek at £100 or past-their-best fine wines offered at exorbitant prices. With Vin à Porter you can drink exactly what you like at retail price.

So how does it work? During the initial consultation tell us where you are going (certain countries/cruise lines are not VAP friendly – see our table),  your budget and the kind of wines you like and we will curate the perfect case. We pack the wines (maximum 8 bottles) into one of our robust flight cases on wheels and deliver to your door. You check in the case as part of your luggage (allow 16-20kg) for a full case. When you get home we pick up the empty case.

As well as wines drawn from our own cellars we work with many of the UK’s best wine merchants and can source virtually any wine. If you are travelling to a wine region you can reuse the case on the return leg to bring back some bottles, saving both duty and the shipping costs.
